         Assumptions

I pondered this thought:
When we don’t understand something
why are we given old books to read?
Is understanding a form of regression?
Are the answers to be found only in the past?

I listen to the waves whispering along the shore:
“You are  frightened of what you don’t understand
so you make an assumption pleasing to the ego;
your so-called philosophies,  religions and histories
written in books are made up of assumptions;
Follow rigidly the teachings therefrom
and truly you shall be the blind led by the blind
for dead men cannot see the place where you now stand!

For as long as you look in these old books
for your understanding of life, the Universe,
and your own species’ passage upon the Earth
you will remain frustrated, confused and afraid
and your future will be one of doom and gloom.”

“So where should I look for wisdom?”
                           I ask
  “You have a heart: that’s the best place to look.”

Perhaps dear Windwalker if we read these books we wont follow our hearts into the follies of another. Some books are outlooks of today and the future ... imagine the possibilities!!

I have an old book
I read it with confidence
knowing it is truth
overflowing with wisdom
that speaks truly to my heart

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

I hold close to my heart a book that is ancient yet its messages are timeless. If we know not the past how can we learn from the mistakes of the past? Very interesting reading, my friend.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Windwalker.this is a great read. If someone listens to their heart, there would be fewer hurts out there. Enjoyed the read.
