Last Kiss of Fall

My lips absorbed the first of kiss,
such softness, breath on hold.
And each time after, barely brushed,
the thoughts of you unfold.

I want to have you in my arms
protecting every feel,
the velvet smoothness, lips on lips,
imagining the real.

If dreams alone could set the stage
designing love for me,
it's you I'd wish to gently kiss
as once, at first did we.

Echoes of the past give sound,
as shadows lie in wait.
Within these distant memory views,
I hold my line of fate

Wondering when the course will turn
and you'll appear once more,
so we can share a final kiss
of Fall, like once before.
