I Fight the Fight

I fight the fight that scars my soul
his words, they penetrate me deep
and so he wonders why it is
I wish to lay myself in sleep.

It doesn't matter if one tries,
as I have done my very best
but I am caught in shadows hold
and want to lay myself to rest.

This evening I, on way to home
saw beauty in a turquoise sky
above the burning of sun's set,
a crescent moon had caught my eye.

I dwelled within the moments sight
until I entered real, my world
then words from lips that drank my soul
unleashed the harshness, he unfurled.

I am not perfect, I admit
but skilled in caring, I've no flaw.
Tonight I wonder why it is
I fight the fight, to win them all.

Each morning I awaken to
and try to ease into the day.
And when he enters, see in him
the "once upons" I've stored away.

It frightens me, how I've become
so lost in feelings swaying strong
and when the evening rises here
he changes, and I become all  wrong.

So once again, I'm penning hurt
typing thoughts, my heart in strain
when really I would rather rhyme
and write romance instead of pain.

I fight the fight too often now
I live in darkness most of day.
So when the stars begin their shine
I fold those thoughts and dream away.

"The worst prison would be a closed heart".
...Pope John Paul II

Dream away, and keep a light shining for yourself, night and day. I'm waiting for more of those sweet rhymes of happiness, but I'll read anything you post.

Fighting not my style
Although neither is happiness
I don’t frown or smile,
Just wander in the darkness
I’d rather just run away,
Than let anger take me,
Cause I see no reason to stay,
It’s always easiest to flee

But perhaps you can’t flee,
Some are trapped where they stay,
Confined so that they aren’t free,
Caught in a tragic play;
I hope things don’t slide to violence
And that the screams recede
Echoing into peaceful silence
And you find the happiness you need

It's easier to see the best in someone when he shows it to you now and then.  Liked this alot.

Such wistful thoughts. We can put up with much in the faults of another if we truly truly love them. That is the test. I asked that myself recently and found the answer was no. If your answer is yes, then I hope all will work out and things will get better

Such sadness and regret are in your words. I hope that your dreams will spin into reality and you will again write the visions of love you have in your heart. My heart goes out to you.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

nakdthoughts - Sad is your writing, and it touches me with your thoughts. I wait for your writings, as you once wrote which were simply beautiful. Hang in there, my thoughts are with you.

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Wynter, this is so so sad and my heart goes out to you and the pain you are dealing with. (sad sigh) We are all so proud of you and love you so very much and your dreams are very special to us all. Believe in your sweet heart always, and all of this will pass! My heart is with you always, sweet friend! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Wynter, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

I am glad that I stopped and read this ... you have strengths unbound.
I trembled, I teared, I found warmth and I feared.
There is darkness and yet a Wynter's light
... I have traveled to that crescent moon so high,
and found in my heart I could touch the sky.
Your words have touched me and I shall extend my shaking hand ... anytime!!

Oh My, so many to thank...

Lady Shallot, Midnitesun,
Professor, Magnus
I thank you each one,
uncan, with D,
Tracey and Wells,
in whispers of wishes
of kindness, I dwell.
Startime and Irish,
a rose of a friend,
to James M and Interloper
thank you's I send..
to BC, I love you,
you know in the end,
I'm always touched by
your heart-words you lend.
Noah, dear Noah
uplifting and light,
ctowen, thank you
for your hand shaking might.
And that leaves dear Seymour
whose cheering brings smiles.
I thank you each time
you react to my trials.
