The Letter – What A Heart Will Hear – Part 7

There are times, in caliginous hours
                        a heart’s burden
                        becomes of such weight
as to crush all that is good in us

                        we would flail helplessly at
that which we cannot see, nor that
                        which we cannot control,
yet see it, and control it, we would…

                        bitterness would rise and choke
what life remains in us, if not
                        for our heart

a heart, it’s very stroke, tell us we
must go on, for to give in to
                        lesser temptations,
those evils that surround us each day,
is to walk away from all that which
                        is good

it is to leave that which we know,
and where our love finds us
                        again

She knew this, in the days that she
                        grieved, and came to that
                        decision which she knew
                        came from her heart…

for she knew her heart, and its render,
she knew it as well as she knew his,
and she knew his still beat,
and that the very line of him,

                        “M’lady, m’love, my dear heart
‘tis only a matter of days
before I return to your dear heart
to share with you loving ways”

would come true, for if he were
                        truly missing, and dead,
as the Captain’s letter inked stark jet
                        before her eyes,
                        her heart would know,

and as it decried otherwise, she would
wait, for her love would come,
soon, it might be from the east,
                        or even from the west,

but she would hear his footsteps,
                        and would run to him,
for he bore her soul, and he
would, as promised, return with it,
and she would hold herself whole again
                        in his arms…

so she would look to the horizon,
and read his hope in all of the
missives received from months gone by, and she
                        would believe,

                        in him.

Oh Lady...as the tears stream down my cheeks.  I have never been so moved by anything in Passions until this series.  This is and has been a unique experience...one that shall not be forgotten.
For this, I thank you.

Lady--perfection!

and so I just know
that love never dies
and that souls hold all the candles
and they are the kind
you can’t blow out

My heart beats with her filled with hope as tears steam from my eyes. This story touches me so very deeply every time I am blessed to read another part of it. STANDING OVATION FOR THE HEART OF A LADY WHO HAS FAITH IN LOVE.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

It isn't over - he has to come back, for I believe he will.  I'll just wait patiently now for Part 8 - as 7 is a lucky number and I know with a love this strong he has to make it.  Does he?  This was brilliant writing but it can't be over yet, can it?  Beautiful work and when you write for first book be sure to tell me when it is in the bookstores so I can rush out and get my copy.
Thank you for this wonderful series.

You pack so much wisdom into the first 5 verses... and so much hope into the whole. Each link in this chain is a strong one, Lady. *S*

and out on the waves
she heard him at last,
his call now so familiar,
"I'm a comin' Beanie!!!"

oops - Sorry Karilea, my old TV nostalgia got to me there

This is such a sweet reading you've given us.
