Distant Is The Thunder
~*Marge Tindal*~

I feel a distant thunder
reverberate across the hills
Shaking the ground - around
as the storms of me stand still

I feel the air in tremor
Slow-rumble sends me down
to look across the meadow
for the electric of this sound

I shiver in the chill
of October stormy skies
The thunder overtakes me
as it opens up and cries ~

A storm in the fall has always felt odd to me.  Storms are for warmer days.  And this can only mean that winter is way too close.  A different part of the season well captured, Marge.  Thanks.

I feel like I'm following Duncan around tonight.
Another good one from Lady Marge. We sometimes have lightening thunderstorms up here, but mostly in summer or late spring.
We already have winter...it's going down to ZERO Friday, just barely above that now.
BRR..you may find me on your doorsteps by January's deepfreeze.

Duncan~
Thanks ... I know just what you mean~
Appreciate the read.
It's hard to explain ... but this one is really just a metaphorical 'feeling' about a friend that came my way~
I grabbed the thought and ran with it~
Hope that's not too confusing~

MidniteSun~
ZERO ???   ZERO ! ! !
Girl, ain't NO WAY you'd catch this little Injun in that kind of weather !
You should have left for Florida last week ! !

Well, after 'thanks for the read' ...
next comes STAY WARM ... but, but ... ZERO ?
*Hugs*

WOW Marge, that's  beautiful, pic and verse

You knew I would love that, didn't you
This could have been taken at my place, that's how we see thunder, sometimes three to four strokes all around.

Beautiful, beautiful, thank you

I couldn't reply to this one immediately... though it gripped me from the first word. *S* This summer has brought a fear of storms to me I can't seem to shake... Instead of appreciating nature's power, I seek shelter and peace and sleep through the night. *S*

As always, you make me think, Marge... and though thinking is dangerous territory for this blonde, it's high compliment to the poet. *S*

Poetic storms are easier to withstand
than those that loom on the emotional horizon.
Great big *hugs* to your 'thinking' blonde self ! !

Marge-
   This touched deeply, my friend.
I could feel the unsettling thunder as I read.
It's no surprise that YOU would know
when a storm is brewing in the life of a friend.
No one can read a heart's weather report
   like you can.
