I remember it clearly
Though years have passed away
Your love that I held dearly
More than words can say

Your eyes that reflected kindness
And Your heart that was sincere
Our days of carefree happiness
That last throughout the years

Though it was not our intention
Eventually we drifted apart.
Time made changes too many to mention
Though you left an imprint in my heart

Sometimes I wonder at night
If the boy I once knew became a man
Honoring all that's good and right
Like before ready to make a stand

Though I may never actually see
If my perception proved true
When I draw in my mind a pleasant memory
What I see is..you

I remember it clearly
Though years have passed away
Your love that I held dearly
More than words can say

I know I am going to be saying these words many years from now. This is so honest, so real and so moving.  The emotion is clearly felt and your words relay it well. I relate to this on a personal level as I'm sure many can. Thank you for this one.

I have thought these exact same thoughts for a certain someone, and I too will never find out how his life turned out. You write these thoughts so eloquently. Beautifully done

I will never forget Billie Jean Smith my first real love...I cried a thousand tears when she moved away...and the world seemed so lost and empty without her around...James

James Michael-- I know exactly what you mean! People call most first loves "puppy love" but they are always the most significant in people's lives..God bless and I hope your Billie Jean is doing well

Ann, This put a melancholy smile on my face this morning-thankyou. Chris

A sweet memory that you can visit and relive the beauty it holds for you. He left a clear print on your heart that serves you up with gentle memories of the past. I love it. Reading this poem gave me a feeling of tender love.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

This is so lovely and can relate to many people who come and go throughout our lives...if we are fortunate enough we are reunited with them if even long enough to see that they are well and happy.  Enjoyed.  ~Nancy~

What would we do without fond memories...treasures of the past...
