I wander from day to day
Like a ghost without substance,
Crying translucent tears
Which fall to the damp ground
And disappear at my feet.

There is an emptiness inside,
A void that you left behind;
Where my heart once beat
With such passionate rhythm,
There is now only silence,
Deafening in it's intensity,
Stealing the dreams we shared
And invading my restless mind
With nightmares of losing you.

Living in a netherworld of pain,
Not knowing what I did wrong;
Only knowing that I miss you.

Nothing left but perpetual night;
Without stars or silver moonlight,
And the only sounds I hear
Are the scraping of dead leaves
Tossed across the porch
By the cold November wind.

Oh Jonas, this is a sad but well written tune. I hope spring comes early for you, with new hope and less pain.

Well written sadness from the heart.
Winter brings cold and bitter days, but in due time there's spring and new things that burst forth with the joy of life.
May the warmth of hope birth in your heart.

*sigh* even a cold november wind can sometimes bring with it refreshment of the spirit. I hope the warmth of love fills your life soon. *hugs* and don't forget the magic that comes with Christmas snow. Maybe there will be magic in it for you this year. Very heartfelt poem. Take care.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Jonas, I can feel your pain. Oh, and the scraping of the dead leaves across the porch!It chills me to the bone. Well done!! Chris

Thank you for the incredible responses everyone    The encouragement here is overwhelming.

RosePetal - Yes, this is about who you think it's about....but it's okay. I wrote this last year during a bad time. I am okay now and enjoying being unattached again
