Myrtle The Turtle
~*Marge Tindal*~

Myrtle the turtle
in her walk-around girdle
is certainly a slowpoke to see

She heads out at dawn
for a trip across the lawn
promising to be back at three

If she doesn't make it home by dark
I don't worry one little bit
Cause if she has to stay overnight
her house is perfectly fit

*A little smile for the rug-rats~

*giggling with delight* this is just so very cute. love it and it is a prefect way to start the day. My 11 year old daughter was sitting beside me when I was reading it and she loves it too. You had us both laughing. A wonderful way to start the morning. Thank you, so very much.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Marge - Is this an autobiography?  lol - I got the feeling as I read this poem that you were writing about something deeper than the apparent theme.  Of course, I might be wrong.  Perhaps Myrtle was so slow because she spent too much time making her house fit?  Regardless, this is a very sweet poem.

Jon~
Thanks so much ... glad to share a smile~

LongJohn~
Well ... let me tell you how deep this one goes~

I took a child from my mentoring group to the pet shop
and bought her a turtle.
She named it Myrtle.
So, I said to myself,
"Self I said ... let's write a poem about Myrtle The Turtle."

LOL ... 'Honest Injun' !

Thank ya' for the deep dip in the think-tank~

This is so cute. I think I'm gonna save it to read to my niece next time I see her.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

This is too, too cute!

You MUST publish a children's book of poetry!
It would be a bestseller!

Got to love anything as laid back as a turtle.  I used to have a Desert Turtle that I let roam my house.  He was so cool.  I made him salads and he would chomp so loudly it was hard to believe such a big sound was coming from such a little mouth.

Marge, you gotta know I just love this. I am in the process of building an enclosure for some turtles and one (ornament) one I have to go in there was named Myrtle by my son-in-law, Timm.

This is just too cute for words! Mum sent it to me to read. It was some absolutely beautiful relief from slogging it out over text books. Thank you!

It takes a while for Myrtle
To travel on her way
But she is back and it is time
To start another day.
