Time slipped into hours and pages
Yet it felt as if a single dip of pen
The warm molasses sun now hung
Just beneath smoldering billows

The light now sepia upon her paper
She decided to feed the thunder
Climbing up in an empty stomach
Pumpernickle and turkey would quiet

When arising from her window seat
A flash and peck startled her stance
There, outside the splintered window sill
Spilled a dove of grayest smoke

Bearing gift in its ambered beak
Bowing and gracefully bidding wing
Leaving her to open the window present
Of a branch of holly with reddest berries

Her thoughts swirled to an inward rush
As the verse on her page came to focus
The symbol of her Lugh brewed upward
Reality prickling between her fingertips

She smiled a deja vu into the kitchen
And arranged the branch in her hair
As the berries were just beginning to ripen
Unconscious of the warmest winter rising

RWood~

This ...

'Time slipped into hours and pages
Yet it felt as if a single dip of pen
The warm molasses sun now hung
Just beneath smoldering billows'

... is as beautiful as anything I've read~

You've touched me with your ink ... again~
What a delightful beginning to a day of poetry~
Thank you so much~

A trancing stage you've set for us...the vision incomparable. Inviting, as ever.

One of the best gifts of Passions...is to read a poet's words, and be thus inspired...

this is beautiful Regina, and you should be very proud of your talents...

Marge: I'm glad to be included in your morning anytime. Thank you so much.

Willie: Thank you for hanging with me on this trial of verse. I hope to continue without fizzling out!

Deb: Thank you very much. Words are magical to me.

Sunshine: I wholeheartedly agree. Any talent I may have comes from the tolerated practice here among you all. Thank you dearly.

I'm glad that I came back to find this one. . . I love the tie-in with Lugh even more now. . .

and Regina, you already had the talent, we're just the lucky ones who get to see it. . .

again, I am honored to have inspired you. . .

Absolutely beautiful. As my daughter is currently studying mythology, I am delighted with this tale and the link to Celtic mythology. Thanks. And this one, as Emily's, will be remembered and saved.

Vicky: Thank you for reading! I hope you're able to make sense of it all. I didn't number them to start. Didn't know it would be a series. I posted numbers after the first three.~Thanx~
