--- God Bless America --- God Bless America, We hear a lot these days. God Bless America, Ignore our sinful ways. The others are the heathens They ignore your holy rules. Forget that we don't want you In our children's schools. God abhors divorce, we know. Yet we do, still, as we please. "God would want me happy" We justify with ease. We count on all to covet sex That's how we sell our goods. We care not how we hurt him, We don't do what we should. Now we stand here righteously Evoking our God's ire. "Our God will now bless us He'll reign down Holy fire." Well my friends, I wonder now If God is quite amused. Or perhaps he's even angry And feels that he's been used. Thanks Enchantress, It's omething we should think about but it's also something most of us don't want to think about. I certainly am not free of sin (God knows ....LOL) but I try to recognize when I need to do a moral self adjustment. No one ever listened themselves into trouble. |

Strong poem. I agree.. within ourselves lies the key....the search seems to be on with everyone I know. But I have to believe that he won't lead me wrong. I know God has blessed me in so many ways..and even those of us that have ignored him for so long. His amazing grace is so amazing. Thank you for sharing. Sincerely, Regina |

This is such a good piece. I think, too often, we use God as a fix-it man when we find ourselves in a mess and in the good times we ignore him. Anyway...great job! |

BRAVO!!!!Said with truth and great talent. I concur with you. This is a powerful poem that speaks of what we may not want to hear but speak and speak loudly it does. Wonderful writing. Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams. |
