A special thank you to my friend, Michelle, who encouraged me in writing this.)

The voice of a warrior dwells within you;
though your victories are won
from your warmth.
Many have walked a path to
recovery recited from your pages
in bold italics.

May I offer adoration for the
voice you were born with;
and to the aging lines and phrases that
pulled, bled, loved,
stroked, calmed and cleansed.
Rest yourself now,
rest yourself under a fire red
sky and prepare for winter ice.

For you were born a silent princess,
sweet with the
scent of orange groves,
blessed from nature’s overture.
And with that sound, you shaped
expression.

You spread heron wings to cradle
others, wandered as a lilac pilgrim
finding solace in the desert where
the rose awaits its grave.

But you are hungering for heaven,
the place where spirits hover
and above silver stars are
their voices calling you.

Yet, yours is but a whisper,
still, as a bird fallen from its nest.
Be not silent.
You will fly again.
Speak from fallen limbs and brush,
clear another path through the forest,
fell the tall oak-
stand in the sun
and give sound to the small
voice within you.
It is a voice that never ages,
a voice that will carry you in flight.

Speak!

Your friend was correct in urging you to write this wonderful piece. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Chris

This, from start to finish is awesome.  Yes,
I do feel from your words...this is a beautiful, well written poem,  written from

Wow!!! Oh Wow!!!! This is just brilliant writing. It is like the most inner feminine power in its gentleness. Quiet yet so strong it shouts in mystical whispers! Bravo!
