Here is a hand

Stretched out
Ready to hold
You’ll find in accepting it
No shackles slipped
Over your wrists
Imprisoning
just the twine of fingers
Around a fragile thought
A hopeful want

There are scars…

Yes

From slices and bashings
In alley wars of past
Yet it still has a tender feel
And I am not drawing it back
For fear of again being bruised
Or cut…

It does not lash out at you
Nor trick you into capture

Here is a hand…
A heart…
A hope…

Can you grasp it?

Beautifully wittten.....a hand held out with honesty not with the desire to own but with the sincerity to give strength and understanding. Who could resist a hand that is offered to them is such a way as this. I was touched with the feeling of truth you wove within each word of this masterpiece from the heart. Very well done.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

To Touch

To touch the words, although none raised
To feel the feel, each line smooth-phrased
To gaze in wistful glance of meet
A hand reached out in friendly greet.

To feel this touch brings welcome sigh
Inhaled exhaled one can't deny
The weariness finds some relief
A hand reached out, absorbing grief.

In hand of touch, compassion shows
In words of care, just like a rose
The beauty blossoms to it's peak
In touch of words, no sound need speak.

These words in bloom, I gently trace
A rose in hand, a gift of grace.

thank you for the inspiration on this day

Yes....
I would grasp it with my own heart
and let us have it all from the start

Such a beautiful touching poem....You really touched my heart with this Ron....
It would certainly go to my library.

Thank you

As love should be held...with an open hand.  From the offer, to the final question, great expression in the style of yours I always enjoy.

Incredible. I hadn't read this before posting one "I held you close"  This is such a wonderful, touching poem, so in tune with my heart, and the hearts of so many passionate poets...Thanks you. And the hand that gives freely is the most genuine.

Of course! But then when I fall down...you won't make fun of me will you? It's okay if you do. I've learned to laugh at myself.   Scars do keep things at a distance sometimes. You have wisdom in teaching those to ignore the scars and keep reaching. Wonderful C. you are.

Sincerely,
Regina
