It Can't Last By: Noah Eaton 9/20/01 You sit alone in your own little snow globe Your hands are tied in your pockets, but they're still cold You say all you wish for is a theory You gauge into grave anarchy And you can't keep off the ground You can't seem to sleep sound You're making your pilgrimage to the dream weaver Burning in an emotional fever She's playing her mandolin alone in the corner Her hearts broken and her giradol is shattered You're dusted in cobwebs of curfews Struggling from becoming a dreamless recluse And so I pray for you Can all your dreams come true Is all innocence gone? What have we all become? You know it just can't last It's not meant to last The playgrounds empty now, there's not a voice All the joys translate to poise You cry for your mother or father Seeking to be saved from another When will the tears stop falling? When will our hopes stop crawling? And so I pray for you Can all your dreams come true Is all innocence gone? What have we all become?
