Joy Upon The Windowsill
~*Marge Tindal*~

I don't have a web-cam
to bring you what I see
I only hope my words
can describe it vividly

Right outside my window
each morning, noon and night
Feathered friends come to enjoy
the seeds of their delight

Cardinals all adorned
in their fluttering red
With Mockingbird close by
singing for his bread

I am caught in constant amaze
at the kaleidoscopic coloring
All upon my windowsill
as they come a'fluttering

Wrens and Sparrows chirping
join the merry throng
There is joy abounding
in their gratitude of song

How my heart is lifted
by their antics at the feeding table
I will continue my abundant offerings
as long as I am able

I feed their need with morsels
they find to their delight
In turn they give me joy of song
singing me into the night

Clapping here Marge!  What a wonderfully uplifting piece for me today. I have missed my birdies so much since our move from the country ... it's just not been the same anymore. Oh how I enjoyed this beautifully cheery piece, thank you my friend!

Best wishes,
/Kit

Oh,Kit~
I wish everyone could see them ~
Hope I've shared just a bit of the splendor they bring~

Every once in a while a Blue Jay swoops in to share in the feast~
But he's hungry too ... so they tolerate him~

The regal Cardinals are my favorites~
And ... my aviary on the front porch contains almost as many as the out of doors~

Glad I could give you a smile this day~
Love ya'

One of my favorite spots is dining at the Riverview with some good company... .. with throngs of hummingbirds hovering just inches from the windows enjoying their feast of fancy...

This is a wonderful reminder, Marge - Thanks..

Marge---This is so great.  Though, I live in the city, I have a small yard with a beautiful apple tree and several bird feeders.  The cardinals are my favorite, too.  This morning for some reason, there were dozens of sparrows singing and fluttering about the smaller tree.  Who needs a webcam, when we've got Margecam!

Oh did I love this one.  I have birdfeeders as well, but in B.C. we have different birds of course.  I wish I could see a real cardinal, but we have those squacking bluejays, woodpeckers, and the cutest little chickadees you ever have seen or heard in your life.  They give you way more than you can ever give them, and they love my wind chimes.  Oh see, don't get me started about little birds, and I hope everyone helps them out in the winter.  I want to start a bird hotel   BEAUTIFUL Marge, thank you for this one.

This is really uplifting and joyful and the presentation is lovely!
The cardinal is my favourite bird as well, and of course, you know that red is my favourite colour.
Cardinals are so vibrant and beautiful, also my Grandma loved birds and nature.
I still remember her Cardinal haiku - that's what inspired me to become a poet.

One of my best moments in the day is sipping on my coffee or tea in the morning and watching the kaleidoscope of birds outside my window...your poem was a pleasant reminder~

Marge - this is really sweet. I too have many fine feathered friends to gaze upon each morning with my coffee. We have had everyone of our five birdhouses filled to capacity, plus a robin and her four babies in a nest in the eaves of our deck. Unknowingly they bring us such joy. Very nice. Chris

There is nothing more wonderful and soothing than the sound of birds singing outside your window.
We have some beautiful ones here. Butcher birds and magpies have the prettiest songs, but the parrots of all colours are the prettiest by far.
Thank you for this, I loved it.

Ahhh the red cardinals, I so enjoyed them when I lived in the States. We don't have them overhere.

I really love this picturepoem, but you already knew that, didn't you.

I'm still having internetproblems. It throws me out ever so often. Has to do with the change to ISDN. Hope it will be over soon.

Thanks again sweet girl for showing me those lovely birds.

Oh, Marge...this is absolutely first rate, both the poetry and the pix. We had a woodpecker in our yard this morning, searching for a hole in the wooden brace for our missing-in-action TV antennae. We always have chickadees, sparrows, ravens,  owls,  sandhill cranes in the summer, and robins in the spring. I love that window feeder of yours. You are in tune with the feathered ones as much as us two-legged featherless birds.

Marge~ A lovely reminder that there are some beautiful things to look forward to each day. Nature is one of those, and watching  happy little creations like birds is a good way to get a little joy.
Great pictures too.

I sometimes forget that there are those who haven't seen the Cardinal.
If anything ... they are even more vividly colored than any photo could show.
