I was inspired to post this poem after reading  RSWEll's poem Twister The Catastrophe.

Eerie Silence

The air holds an eerie silence
Black, angry clouds boil across skies
Winds whistle and begin to howl
Birds tumble around as each flies

A fear tightens in the stomach
Somethings different in this storm
The feeling of danger coming
Eyes widen as the winds take form

In slow motion it now descends
Frozen to the spot, filled with fear
A prayer tears from within the soul
Watching it destroy all held dear

Seconds become eternity
Advancing monster growls and roars
Filling air with pieces of life
Than into the dark skies it soars

An eerie silence fills the air
Winds settle, now becoming calm
Breath escapes, presure releases
A prayer of thanks sends healing balm
