Aphrodite Amore

She is the seductive scent of Spring,
the sultry heat of Summer sun,
the poetry of an Autumn tree's dance
and the mysterious wind of Winter,
she is the breath of all seasons
within the depths of your soul
adorned with the grace of Gods
sailing a lover's lace sky
singing erotica's lullaby

She is the daughter of Zeus
of Cyprus and Olympia Oasis,
the greek goddess of sexual pleasure
and fertility
born from tears of the sea
awash over sands of amore,
she is the mother of romance,
the diva of desire
and heaven's divinity
of perfect beauty,
she is your deepest fantasies
and secret reveries
setting aflame your inner spark
of sensuality

She shows mortal man
a glimpse of eternity
then strips it from his heart
in playful tease,
she'll tempt your tomorrows
and fill your nights with lust,
women worship her glorious gifts,
and men long to taste her
she is what you want a woman to be
and more

No other goddess doth compare
to Aphrodite, Venus, so rare
with silk spun strands of diamond hair
spellbounding, exquisite...
a vixen, so fair,
her lashes flutter with butterflies
through realms of wild abandon,
her eyes weave visions of candlelight
painting twilight with stars
'neath an enraptured moon,
her lips are wet with passion wine
her silhouette sways with voluptuousness
making love to the breeze...
dare not resist her,
you will surrender to
what is meant to be

Sleep now,
she is enchantment of your dreams...
the kiss upon your skin,
she will caress your every curve
as her wings carry you away
to ecstasy beyond imagination
to the perfect balance of earth and sky
and so, shall you awaken
to love, forever and fated
singing erotica's lullaby
sailing on a soulmate sigh

Yes,,,,,you have done well with this one..
The music, the images,  the words....the
desire for a goddess of so many desires that
men have inside them.....even I.

What a gorgeous piece of writing Melissa. Your talent never ceases to amaze me. Simply beautiful.

My dear 'deer   Thank you!   you lil' cutie patootie you!

Karen, Magnus, Enchantress and Tracey - Thank you so much!  I'm so glad that you enjoyed this poem.
Honestly, I was hesitant about posting it because it does not compare to Sven's beautiful goddess poetry...*and Melissa crosses her fingers*, I hope that it passes his test

Stunning poem, with passion and tease in the proper proportions, as Aphrodite herself would agree.
But where in the world did you get that old picture of me??? Hehe, don't I wish.

I knew from the title this was gonna be classic Melis...superb imagery and emotional romantic expression written across heaven...
absolutely beautiful...but Im not surprised...
after all you are a poetic goddess

This distance has shown how the road remains alone
Now I'm looking in my life ... for a truth that is my own.

Even the Goddess is pleased Melissa!!!   (She phones me now and again... )
Looking forward to more and if you want a treasure trove of inspiration? May I suggest The Women's Encyclopedia Of Myths and Secrets by Barbara G. Walke...

Looking forward to much more from you..and yep...am jealous of the graphic thing!

Melissa, so beautiful, so discriptive... and your poetry is pretty cool too.

Kidding aside I am always amazed when I open one of your poems. You always seem to bring together just the right words and present them like a master cook with wonderful visuals and sound.

I also love goddesses, please introduce me to this one.

Melissa, for a first this is simply amazing, I'm not even gonna bother to try writing Goddess verse, after you and Sven.
Everything is great - descriptions, graphics, flow - everything.
Brilliant my friend, you should be THRILLED with yourself!!
