Each Night I Hold Her Hand

It was on an ebony night
I walked beneath a moonless sky
Engrossed within a mind of flight
That lit a path for you and I.

It’s true it was an aisle of wile
But it held me a willing host
And played its beauty mile on mile.
A phantom holding you a ghost

And happily I held your hand
And walked with you within this space
Above the timeless passing sand
Within a dreamers dreaming grace

My heart was warm my soul at peace
I did not wish the wile to fade
I did not wish to end the lease
I would remain this heavens glade.

But life is not all dreamers’ dawn
And sun does light the true of morn.

It matters not dark of night or light of day
when minds entwine ... the dream does stay

On sands of serenity we walk your beaches of understand
Time is lost to infinity when we hold our hearts in our hands

I found this picture weeks ago and tucked it away for I knew eventually you would give me a chance to share it....

This is a delightful poem. I really like the way you captured the moment:

"It was on an ebony night
I walked beneath a moonless sky
Engrossed within a mind of flight
That lit a path for you and I"

It is so beautifully written, with a pleasant flow.

This is amazingly tender and touching. Dreams are so sweet, sometimes we just don't want to wake up.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Just came by ... for one more sigh ...
'Tis time to lay down my weary head
Tonite let me dream ... this rhyme scheme dream ...
Let me have visions of Eden and Heaven instead

Close your eyes and take my hand as we walk the moonlit shore
Dreams come true as a butterfly and dragon stroll upon beaches of evermore

*winkiewinkie*...goodnight Sweet Stinky
sweet dreams

This distance has shown how the road remains alone
Now I'm looking in my life ... for a truth that is my own.

Oh darn...I have to come back tonight again, as any time I end a poem with a huge contented sigh, that is a "night" poem!  Oh this was so beautiful, and I will be back later when the sun goes down.

you take a moment, then intertwine
all loving hearts when you call her "mine"
saved but for the woman whose art
stole away your loving heart
