Step with me, then
through muggy fog
our footsteps silence
song of frog...
past the stump of cypress knee
into the bog past hermit's keep
forget the shadows in the wood--
keep eyes on path, where they should
remain lest lust deceive the eye
already blind by tears I've cried
So walk with me into the wood...

Within a circled fairyring,
there you'll dance--
I'll clap and sing
stories told on harp and string
in harmonies the fairies bring.

May the moonbeams spark the leaves
a spotlight of our dance, reprieve.
Skyclad circles in the wood
together, as we knew we would.

I'll come again when you are gone
if only just to hum the song...
clasping knees in rock of tears
the memory of lack of fear
I'll keep the dirt you danced upon
each mote--a note of this night's song.

"I'll come again when you are gone
if only just to hum the song..."

And you hum all night long, serenity, sister to the midnitesun.

Something so visual doesn't need a picture but I had this and your verse brought so much to mind. Wanted to share it with you.

Serenity~  How magical...I'd love to go for a dance in a fairy ring    tell me when and where and I'll be there!
