They've infected me with their agent
Death doesn't feel so good
I feel hate stirring inside of me
And so I severed all I could

I'm quite happy now
Less means less to put up with
I cut all my ties
And I look good in a T

My heart doesn't need four chambers to beat

When locking the doors just isn't enough
And every generation gots to get even more tough

What's next?

Listen to the scream of the plane above
Was there a twinge of doubt?
Crop dusters spreading fear
And we all get to do without

(what do they feel when we drop packets of relief)

But I'm happy
Like the tree that giveth
Eden is so far away

And like everything
I took for granted
The genie said
Be careful what you wish for

I wish...
I wish...
I was far away...

Don't we all.  But....you and I have the fortitude to look it in the eye and say WOW!

When you find that golden door to Eden, be prepared for the crowds to come pouring in...stampede style.
I enjoyed reading your perspective, wayoutwalt.

Yes...far and away...but so glad we are here the same. Your verse made me think about so many things...such as the old Home Sweet Home....I still hope. Really great write!

The tree that giveth I refer to is the tree in the garden of Eden that got Adam and Eve booted out. Also the giving tree in Shel Silverstein's tale. Thank you all.
