where insanity meets breeding

You took a little piece of me, when you did depart
That piece is rather special, for it was once my heart
And when I think I’ve got it back, and give it once again
I find that it’s not mine to give, you own it still my friend
If I knew where to find you, in that land I left behind
I’d look you up and ask you “oh would you be so kind
Unite me back with my dear heart, or please let it go”
I’ll not even charge a rental, for the years you held it so
I’m sentenced to a life of love, for one who’s left behind
And if my heart does not return, I’ll slowly lose my mind
So if you read these words of mine, please send it parcel post
Then I’ll get on with living
Stead of living with a ghost

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

When someone's living rent free in your heart, not even aware of the privilege...time to write a new lease.  The healing will follow.  In time.  lol  (Look who's talking).

Forget it, girl! I've got it now
And you ain't gonna get it!
You offered it quite freely and
You say now you regret it.

You said it had been broken
By bad judgements you had made
But I said it was still quite good
And offered you a trade.

So now you say you want it back?
You need it? O.K. fine...
Come get it....just be sure that
When you take it, give me mine

Tracey

This was outstanding!! I loved
the whole piece tremendously. I loved
the analogies in this, but mostly the
message and the entire flow!! Best piece
of poetry I've read in some time.
Thank you and take care.

Tracey;
That was I think the most beautiful heart felt poem I've read in a very long time. OH MY!!!!!!! is about all I can say.

And then Balladeer ads a wonderful reply......GOLLY GEE how sweet!!!!!

When you get it back let me know how you did it.
OH MY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Without the experiance of love where would we be? We would have no memories to cherish.
With love it brings hurt with hurt bittersweet memories.

Oh Tracey, you have suffered the same fate today as Mysteria(that means you are in great company.)  For that rascal of verse  Ballad deer has done it again, and tagged along with verse of his own that is so funny, I am still trying to remember what I wanted to say about your poem. Oh, yes. The kidnapped heart....it's time for him to give it back, with substantial interest of course!

Duncan- a new lease is most definitely called for. I know you have the same feelings..the only good thing to come out of them is poetry lol

Now Deer you know my heart is yours
And you can have it forever more
As long as you don't serve me Spam
I’ll give to you my heart and hand

Enchantress, thank you. And how does Baladeer come up with those verses on the spur of the moment?

Aimster-you make me blush with such high words of praise. Thank you dearly

Heather-I am blushing again. And if I figure out how to get it back, I’ll be giving lessons!! Lol

Midnitesun – ah yes, interest. I like that idea. He would owe me large!!!

Very kewl, Tracey - I've gotta say, you don't have a corner on those feelings...

Oh - and watch out for Deer - He's always up to mischief..

Very skillful and touching. I've heard similar laments before, but never so well put.
