Dust's long since settled , ash blankets the years ,
lost but faint memory of ancient time .
No point of reference from which to steer
a course , or set foot-hold , yet up-ward climb .

Few would believe such as we roamed this plane
sharing impressions with all that we touched .
Slowly awakened , re-birthed into pain ,
fragily roosted , yet wanting so much

to cross the span with an echo of words
whose image reflects in curious eyes .
The sum of our lives , that perhaps be heard
whispers of wonders once more to arise .

The phoenix eternal's found voice to sing ,
freed from the gilded page , taken to wing .

Nice:-)
Heather (CherokeeGirl)

Without the experiance of love where would we be? We would have no memories to cherish.
With love it brings hurt with hurt bittersweet memories.

A beautifully constructed sonnet, much enjoyed!

There's no such thing as a dead poet, Doctor. As long as their work lives, so do they. I had a nice chat with Poe this morning
