Beneath and Within

A true personality behind a veil
Of false name packaged with fear
Knew not what to seek
Afraid of what would speak

You wrote your way to my soul
Words that traded you
And your willingness to feel
Unpretentious, so true…

Slowly I peeled myself
Of my secrets, fears and dreams
Cause I knew you were capable
Of knowing me, completely

Yet restrained indeed I was
Torn between a choice
To reveal how this heart had grown
With you residing deep within

You had lifted me up again
Thru’ a whirlwind of passion
And a love of hopes
That was never ending, always lingering

Alas, I’ve stopped wondering
About this other world you mentioned
And I’ve prayed that things could happen
In places other than dreams

I loved this verse..then the further I read, I decided........I loved them all. Thank you

~Wynter...I am saving this one, it is inspiring me this day..p.s.   I dont like to add crtitiques..but it would be  even more wonderful if the words 'Cause and  you were written out

"The worst prison would be a closed heart".

I like your title...and oftentimes, writing is just that, peeling a way through to the truth....

We often all feel that some things in dreams
would be so wonderful if they were true.
This internet enhances and magnifies that.
I hope your dream,  if is yours.....becomes
a reality.  This is well said and written.

Word after Word...superb! This is a keeper for sure. That place exists. Believe. It comes slowly into view, layer by layer..especially when you can write like this! Beautiful!

Sincerely,
Regina
