Tonight I drove to my Mom's place to install her printer new
Took my camera with me wanted to take some pictures few
And driving through this open land I saw the sun sink low
All around me a colored sky with veils of clouds in flow

I cannot tell you what I feel when I see nature's setting sun
It takes the whole of me I guess it takes me on the run
Capturing beauty and hold it tight is what I want to do
Want to share it with all people yes and with you too

I can't deny I have a tic but it's a harmless one you see
For showing beauty is no crime at least it's not to me
Drive with me to my Mom's place the ride will suit you well
I have so many things to show so many things to tell

It's harvesttime the grain is in and potatoes will be soon
It's overdue it rained too much they work till shining moon
Endless acres to be done and they've no time to spare
They work so hard but nature sometimes isn't really fair

Driving on looking around what can I show you more
Oh yes next time I'll take you to sunsetting at seashore
For where I live we have it all North Sea is just not far
D-day shores of World War II few hours drive by car

Just take some time off now to enjoy this pinky sky
Every minute it's different see don't mind me if I sigh
I lived here almost all my life and never get enough
Of colored skies not even when storms are getting tough

So glad I am you came along to see this pretty sight
And hope I didn't put you asleep with the words I write
For I don't know any other way to show you what I see
Can you believe that in this landscape I feel truly free

Oh Titia, I've missed the pictures of your scenery. You'll never bore me with your pictures and your words. I adore them

Titia---You know I love these glimpses of your world.  I've been in the city so long, I'd probably have trouble walking if I weren't on pavement.  lol  Thanks for the view!

Put me to sleep?  Never!  Titia, I didn't want my car ride to end ever.  This was simply beautiful, and I bookmarked this to read and veiw over and over.  I can't wait to go to the seashore, when do we go?  These picture poems of yours are incredible, and your photography is only secondary to your heart's words dear lady.  Thank you for this.

Amazing how the skies can pull us together, my view of them is quite like yours, and I welcomed them with joy!

Thank you so much, Titia...it is snowing here in ALaska today, looks like winter is here to stay for awhile. I remember Dutch sunsets as I was lucky enough to spend a week in Holland many years ago. I understand your love affair with the peaceful sunsets in the countryside.

Thank you my friends for your replies
Writing them is a joy and time flies
I could make a dozen rhymes with pics
For colored skies give me my kicks
I think I've nearly a hundred here
I must stay away from sunrises dear
Colored skies they're here every day
So I'll post a few more if I may
