~*~ Me, Myself, and I ~*~

I've searched long, far and wide
for someone I can trust,
a friend in whom I can confide
I don't think I ask for much.

It's a lonely world in which I dwell
as my search has been in vain.
I simply sit and talk to myself,
but somehow it’s not the same.

My only friends are me, and I,
yes, we know each other well.
We get along most of the time
for in the same heart we dwell.

It is trust that holds me back,
I’ve been hurt too many times.
You can read all about it
In my simple little rhymes.

Until I find myself a friend
in whom I can confide
I guess I’ll have to be content,
With me, myself, and I.

A nice poem and I glad that you can be 'content, With me, myself, and I', and I hope you will be very very content when you meet that special friend.

Wonderfully composed Sharon ... it does go perfectly with the image, I really enjoyed your sentiments in this piece.

Looks like Susan's got one hand, and NancyLee's got your other ... but I'm happy to join in, so if you're all out of hands, just give me your foot, lol!

Best wishes,
/Kit

You can take my hand, as well, Sharon

This is perfectly expressed, and that picture is way cool, you speak of my feelings to a tee!~

Take care,

I know a woman that has a lack of trust...I think that it will return in time when she has gone thru a healing period and comes to the place where she admires someone enough to take a risk...I believe I have this problem also...I did take risk's and my trust was broken again...it's a slow process...James

Very appropriate poem for the picture. Lovely poem, though I'm sure it can't be written from your perspective, since a heart as lovely as yours must have many friends.

Sharon, I know better then what this very well intriquing little poem says... that you are such a giving and loving person and that is why you have more friends then you can shake a stick at. Me myself and I know that this was in jest. Bravo! on the uniqueness...

Enchantress ~ Thanks for the hand!

jonmcm ~ Funny thing is I am content with my own company, so any friends are only icing on life's cake, thanks for reading this one.

Kit ~ That puts a whole new meaning into "shake a leg" LOL, thanks for the smile!

Melissa ~ Gotta give you a leg, fresh out of hands kiddo, but here's "leggin at you kid!", oh I am silly today!

JamesMichael ~ I know this poem is true for many but it was just a poem I wrote for those that do last trust as well.  You are right, it takes time, lots of time!  Thanks.

SunshineMist ~ Cool picture isn't it?  He truly rocks!  And I always reach out, it is the only way to get someone to grab!  Thank you.

Tracey ~ It is a neat piece of art.  May I say, not always does a person who seems popular have lots of friends, only if they choose to let them in really.  Good thoughts.

Flutterwings ~ Shhhh, you will give my secret away!

JamesBowie ~ Why thank you sir!  I shall now seek you out as you are not familiar to me and I apologize for having not read your work.

I once had a special friend who told me that throughout the course of your life, you're very fortunate if you have three people in whom you can trust.  Two would be your parents.  If you're very, very lucky, you'll find the third before you die.

He did indeed trust in me before he died - and I was honored.

Your sentiments are not far removed from his philosophy - Trust in yourself, yet be ready and willing to reach out your hand when a trustworthy friend extends theirs...

You know all that of course - Your hand is extended in friendship to so many - Thanks for your lovely words, m'friend...

I respectfully request permission to disagree one point...you have one friend you can trust here in Texas!  This one expresses sentiments I can so well relate to, having been a loner and much to myself...however, that all changed when I found you...and, of course, my Australian angel ~*~grins and winks~*~
Excellent work, Sharon...I loved it!
Hugs and much love to you, always, ~*~dawn~*~
