where the sky and horizon meet

Silence

That moment of serenity
   just before falling asleep

The fragility  of

   a butterfly's soft flight

The flutter of eyelids

   as a child dreams

The moment right before

a cat pounces on its prey

Silence knows the purpose and direction

of every cloud in the sky

And when it arrives

   every cricket starts to chirp

as every tree sways

   and rustles its leaves

to the rhythm when

   silence gives nature a voice

Your beautiful words & creativity allow me to connect with the same in myself.
Thank you for having the courage to share yourself so that I can too

You know what I like best about silence - I can always break it!  Hah!   nah, everyone needs a little silence to go within.  Great poem.

Krista, silence has many voices, does it not...smiling, and most of them inferred! This is a beauty and got me to thinking (albeit silently) And apologies for my own silence....sometimes I just get that way! HUGS

I never knew how beautiful silence was,
but here you are describing it perfectly.
Nicely done.

You have spoken to that part of my heart that loves solitude and the quiet moments where I can listen to the most peaceful time of silence. I will save this always! Simply magnificent!
