Beneath the leaves of molten gold,
carpeted bower deep in gentle fold.
A couple joined in soulful deep bliss,
counting the leaffall with nothing amiss.
Waiting for the stars to make their show,
building a fire to reflecting glow.

Embers grow deep as the night comes dark,
with snapping logs and shooting spark.
Firetrails cross the starry night
as meteors shower with all their might.
A gentle nudge with booted foot,
send sparking lights, soaring beyond look.

Sparks rising to heaven, to kiss the stars,
borne on the winds, even to Mars.
Til none can tell which, from only glow,
as the sky blooms out in vivid show.
Two pairs of eyes search out the lights,
seeking the wolf and all heavenly sights.

Finally the fire has burned so low,
as the night crept on, so very slow.
Snuggled in deerskins as the wind grew chill,
warmed by the fire and accompanying thrill.
Stars still shone and embers did keep,
ignored for a moment, as a lifetime did seek.

Logan --by the fire a fire was made, and with this poem, it still warms the heart.

Ah dear Logan...This one is very special to me, for it would appear it has stirred memories in me as well.  Printing this one out for a night's read just before my eyes close.
Beautiful write!

I sure liked this one Logan, and loved these lines:
"Stars still shone and embers did keep,
ignored for a moment, as a lifetime did seek."
I felt those two lines said it all.

This is for you,(a cosmic wolf), and he is kinda cute too.

This is certainly a wonderful display of beauty. I know your fire.

Logan, look at the beauty of this! You write such as to bring the reader into the scenery, feel the chill, smile at the embers and say "ohhh" as the sparks kiss the stars....

This is a keeper for all....
