she comes to me at night
when the moon is full
and the stars band the sky
for her alone I write
these songs of my love
for her alone my heart cries

her name is what she is
Leanan, my inspiration,
the light of my words
to be her love is my wish
Leanan, my darkest love,
sweetest voice ever heard

when she is far from me
I am empty souled
words flow not from my pen
but when her face I see
my soul is filled
and my words have no end

stay with me, my Dark Muse
lover of my soul
desire of my heart
let my love of many hues
paint your life with love
and from me, never part

The price of words...a freedom to write which we so gravely crave...a steep price, indeed...

well done, Sir!

Oh gr8 voice of the Northland ... you knew I'd have to read about the Irish muse

Well done.  I'll have a lot of catchingup on your series ... been busy lately.  Can you imagine they expect a days work for a days pay?

Write on my friend.

Being half Irish, (which explains my penchant for the odd tipple!), I knew I had to read this as soon as I saw the title. She certainly inspired your pen to write a lovely tribute to her. I shall have to follow your link and learn a little more about her.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Had to come back after following your link. What a fascinating story. Thank you for teaching me something new about Irish folklore and my heritage.
