Come to Me Now

The night is swift, it passes like the wind
And never pauses for a soft caress
Nor listens to my sentiments within
It simply comes and goes in quietness

In slumbering dreams I pass the night away
And waken to the dawn’s unwelcome light
The sun has brought another lonely day
And cruelly stolen yet another night

I’ve missed the starlit sky, the evening balm
The silver glow cast by a midnight moon
For I still sing a melancholic song
And sleep alone in darkness of my room

Come to me now, my love, and stay with me
And make my night a sweet eternity

A beautiful sonnet Liz, but maybe he would come quicker if you said "please"    try that, and let me know how it works will you?

Liz has no need to say please to anyone...

The sonnet is perfect...

Thank you, dear poets, for your warming remarks. They are much appreciated.
