Two Ideas

I was torn between two ideas once,
Couldn’t make up my mind what to do.
Thought about it, this way and that,
Until I thought my mind would turn to goo.

Slept on it for most of the night,
Hoping in the morning to make a choice.
Talked myself into and out of each side,
Decided I’d better stop or I’d lose my voice.

Discussed it with my intelligent friends,
But their ideas made my brain sore.
Just when I thought I understood,
I chose to think about it some more.

By now I thought I was well informed,
Ready, on the matter, to take a stand.
I puffed up my chest and took a deep breath,
And lost the courage to spit out my plan.

I hesitated, I straddled the line,
Couldn’t figure out what to say.
There I was in the middle of the road,
Yup, I got run over by traffic going both ways.

Sin isn't fair, but God got even, grace isn't fair either.  larry c

Never knew making up one's mind could be so painful!  Good write.

Gosh, Larry...you mean I'm not the only one who has been hit like this?
Sometimes I feel like I am that little speck of dust that hovers between the rock and the hard spot, hoping to find a safe exit.

I can relate to this well.
Excellent write.

Larry~  I wish I didn't have a clue what you were talking about but man...I know *exactly* what you mean.  I am the queen of indecision!  Something I am not proud of    Great write!

Your beautiful words & creativity allow me to connect with the same in myself.

Duncan,
My lifes experience says it can indeed be painful.  By observation you understand.  Thanks.

Midnitesun,
Trouble is, there isn't always a way out.  But we survive, huh.  And no, you're not alone.  Thanks.

Sinister Handed,
Excellent quote.  Glad you enjoyed it.  Thanks for the compliment and nice to meet ya'.

Krista,
I thought I was married to the Queen of Indecision.  It has been very educational.  I've learned you can't decide for someone else.  Sigh...Thanks for the read.

SEA,
Thanks, I'm excited you like my poetry.  I have learned to live with indecisiveness.  So I've proved you can adjust.  So the poetry came from lots of observation. LOL

Cindi,
Silly, my wife is the indecisive one.  I know what I want.  Ya' know.   I'll see if I can find some more humor.  Thanks
