I'm out of giving -
so tired of living
the days of an empty cup,
tired of crying myself to sleep
with tears that are washed up,
I bid adieu
to all of you,
goodbye my once sweet dreams!
I'm tired of living -
it's not worth giving
of a soul torn at the seams.
Yes, I'll surrender
to bittersweet,
waving flag
in cruel defeat,
I wish to God
I was never born...
a victim of
fate, forlorn,
I'm tired of living
so drained of giving
of a soul that is too dead,
laying down - the sacrifice,
'pon my self-stained bed,
the years of weep
are far too stale
I'm in the deep
of depression's jail,
tired of mourning
the death of dawn,
tired of nights
that scream too long,
I'm worn of frying
my eyes in rot,
tired of miracles
never caught.
There is no bloom
of skin now cold,
I'm far too young
to grow this old.
I'm out of faith,
out of hope
out of means
by which to cope,
no, I'll not chance
love or romance
with a heart layered in stone;
hello darkness!  hello hell...
hello void of alone!

I've always wondered where this side of you comes from. . . perhaps I know. . .

well done. . . deep and full of longing. . .

Oh Melissa, this is such a sad piece. I'm gonna have to come down there and take you out for a drink and cheer you up!!! Beautifully written, but I sure hope things look up for you soon

Hey there, lady, I can't believe such a sad and mournful piece coming from you right after that little candy tanka. What's up?
Hope you are ok, I have felt this way, you know that, but it passes.
Peace
Sandra

missy,

are you okay?
this is just too sad,
i hope it's only a poem
and not true to life!

Melybee, I wish I had the talents that you have, to take a thought and wend it so close to reality that I have to take a second look...

I've seen you write a lot of things....and this is one of the strongest yet!

The dark night of the soul is never easy. The dawn shall come. It always does. Very well expressed, Melissa.
