A gentle Autumn breeze blows
as I sit here on the river bank
where we shared our summer days

Leaves painted with colour
which heard our words of love
float unknowingly to another place

Laughter had filled our world
Smiles lit our opaque nights
So eerie now the silence

The trees bow so gracefully
their branches lightly brushed the water
just as your lips had once touched mine

Even though the skies my darken
my heart is full of light
for there is where you will stay

Life now continues onward
but my memories will remain
of you My  Summer Love

Hey, sweet lady! Memories of your posts just a few short months ago put a smile on my face. You always have warm kind things to say, and keep positive memories close to the surface. Thanks, Kacy

Your imagery is so beautiful here. A really unique way of expressing the change into a memory. Enjoyed!

You don't know how much this speaks to me. On a recent holiday, I visited a place that a past love and I spent time in. This conjures up those thoughts I had. Beautifully written.
