I Am Not A Fairy Tale

I am weakened
by each breath I take,
the uncertainty in the air
filling me to capacity.
I pause momentarily, to rest
belaboring this rhythm,
the flow blocked at times
by the pulsating of thoughts.
The throbbing reaches inward,
grasping a lonely heart
as I try to analyze the state I am in.

I am susceptible
to your every movement,
exhausted by your capture,
sensitive to your stimulation,
unbalanced by your every touch.
Tinged by each stroke of your hand,
I am warmed in the color blush,
as you strike a chord within me.
A twist of fate, to bind me
to the fabric of you.

I am marginal,
able only to demonstrate
the dances of my past,
a life failed, revealing a part of me,
a glimpse into the sheerness of a soul
to be scrutinized, perused,
by eyes expecting more;
perhaps a fantasy.

I am not a fairy tale
or a mind's eye creativity.
I am a rainbow in disguise.
Colored by life, shaded by my
displays of emotion, held up to your view,
exposing when necessary
my arc, each bend, each curvature
that flexes, trying
to meet you halfway.

~Wynter

Excellent write,
But,
Although you might not be a fairy tale,
I believe some of the rest of us are.

Enjoyed the descriptive phrases.

Absolutely beautiful.

my arc, each bend, each curvature
that flexes, trying
to meet you halfway."

That's a lot further than many are willing to reach. You are an honest and open heart, and it is comforting to read words like this today. Thanks.

An impactful write, Wynter.  I feel that when one realizes the following passage:

I am marginal,
able only to demonstrate
the dances of my past,
a life failed, revealing a part of me,
a glimpse into the sheerness of a soul
to be scrutinized, perused,
by eyes expecting more;
perhaps a fantasy.

...it's time to reassess one's thresholds of tolerance and reanalyze one's motives, for no one should be a fantasy, or rather -- a set of expectations, if they choose not to be...

The title itslef is capturing; your character has a spark inside that demands appearance, and your desription is visually magnetic.  I believed in a princess held captive in her role, and yet, she tore herself from the fabrication.  Wonderful.
