When the mystic nightengale chants his sweet refrain,
and Orion's belt tightens its grip on the human heart,
will we be ready to open up and release our love in unity,
to shower the whole Earth with peace and harmony,
and cleanse our sullied hearts and minds
of hatred and injustice?
Or will we sit smugly on our false tarnished thrones
and let the golden moment of opportunity pass us by,
as if we were not part of the problem?
As if we could not feel or know the answer
when we hear all the suffering souls crying out
Why?

A friend once told me
"We will never see Peace on Earth
until Hell freezes over"

Well, it is freezing out now,
and I have seen Hell on Earth.
When will I see Peace?

Peace has to come from inside first me thinks.

This was great!

Splended write.  I too ask the same question.

~Time has cast a spell on you,
So that you won't ever forget me.~

Thanks for reading, dark angel. And my soul is peaceful when I look at the moon and stars, or when I watch mother cat tenderly caring for her kittens. But it is difficult to keep a peaceful heart when I look at what humans are capable of doing to one another. But I hear you.

Thank you, Enchantress. The answer is out there, we just have to believe in it. It's written in the wind, on the faces smiling children, on the flowers that bloom in the spring when kissed by love from the sun and rain. Love is the only answer.

I hear you loud and clear, Kacy...  It's a simple forumla, really -- as old as the bible:  "Do unto others as you would have done unto you"...  ...and it's not just the bible which speaks of it, for the wisdom of this concept is timeless -- beyond all religions and philosophies.  So the question remains:  is each of us APPLYING this concept?  It takes each human to change him/herself before one can expect to see change in others...  Start by paying some heed to that cliched bumper sticker, "Practice random acts of kindness and senseless beauty".  Who goes first?

Thanks for reading, Mark. It is true, each of us has to apply the principle of kindness. And even if it's a cliche, I love that bumper sticker, and try to follow that rule every day.
