~*~  My Last Red Rose Of Summer ~*~

Oh what love she brings to me
as summer’s glory displays the last
before the chorus of winter’s song.

Seeing her, tenderly warmed me,
melting the early morning's frost
'til the sun's rays fell on my heart.

She spins a web around my soul,
preparing me for the going,
giving death grace to mine eyes alone.

Chickadees sing in trees blown bare,
as nature's pleading messengers
of an exquisite summer’s end.

What love does she bring to me
while flowers bloom their last,
as I watch with wonder and wait.

This beauty, my last rose of summer*,
how she warms my very heart and soul,
and prepares me for winter's chill.

Mysteria, lovely write. Don't be blue, she will return in the spring as the songbirds sing. I love red too!!

Sunshinemist ~ That is the beauty of rose, so much like love...if you take care of them they are always there to give you pleasure.

JamesMichael ~ I have them in all colors, but this was the last one *sigh* Thanks for reading.

Kit ~ I am glad you enjoyed this litte offering, I loved the music.

Mysteria~
Nice tribute to the red rose~

My   daughter-in-law and I were looking at poetry on the site yesterday ...
She thought the rose was a silk one and wanted me to ask you if you grew it or if it's a photo of a silk one~
I told her that I'd ask.

If it is real, she wants to know it's botanical name.
She's my little 'green-thumber' and grows some spectacular roses.

Mysteria,

There is a saddening when beauty leaves us. But a new and wonderful color approaches.

Very pretty write.

Poetic verse nestled in the warmth of my heart, reveals the sweet yearnings of my soul....

I am glad you enjoyed this one, and Marge when I get back home I will look for you and send the name in email for her.  It is red/orange actually, not like the picture turned out.  That was the last bud one, and I picked it!

Sharon...*L* HUSH with the winter talk....I know how cold it will get where you are, we are feeling the effects here in what I believe to be a bad winter.....

your poem is beautiful, and the picture stunning....
