I’ve been asked why my attraction to you is so strong
why I feel that you’ve been with me since I was born
what has happened in my life that proves you’re there
the only answer that I can come up with is just “because”

because I was a small boy without a father,
you were there
because I was a young man without a love,
you were there
because I am an older man who’s lost his way,
you are here
because I will be an elder man who will find you,
you’ll be there

my gifts were given to me by you even before I knew I had them
poetry, words, music,
the gifts of emotion and empathy,
these are the gifts that you have given to me
gifts that I didn’t want at times
but gifts that I needed to become the person that you wanted me to be

I know now that you’re the reason I’m here
I can see now it’s because of you
that I’ve become what and who I am
that I had to go through the class
to learn the lessons
so that I can understand that the person that I was
is not the person that I am

I see now
that you move through my life in my guises
mother
sister
lover
wife
friend
and that from each guise
I’m to learn what it is that will guide me to the next step
the next part of my life
the next phase of my growth

it’s all because of you

you’re the one that opened my heart and my mind
you’re the one that opened my soul and my life
you’re the one
and for that,
for all that you’ve done
all I can say is

thank you. .  .

Sven Pen~

Gawd, this is so beautiful!
*sighs* I just love this and am so moved by your words.  If ever you are proudest of one poem in your life ~ let this be the one!
You've penned yet another perfect poem!

Take care,

thank you all. . . indeed, this is one that's pretty close to me. . . so many have moved through my life. . . and have taught me so much. . . that they could have only come from one place. . . from one spirit. . .

the spirit that continues to move through my life. . . and always will. . .

thank you my friends. . . every day, I learn from you. . . and every day, I hope that you learn from me as well. . .

What a beautiful, spiritual write. But then, I'm starting to learn that you're a very spiritual person. Truly, a wonderful piece of writing from your "Sven pen"

It seems to me that you have many wonderful friends here. That is a great thing. This was an awesome poem of appreciation for your gifts, which I am sure, are numerous.

that this has been so well received amazes me. . . thank you all so much for reading and for your words. . .

Regina, you mentioned that I have "moved through many ladies lives". . . I would like to say that, simply, it is they who have moved through my life. . . and made all the difference. . . thank you. . .
