Seasons

From out of moistened springtime turf
God lifts a tulip from the earth
From bud the petals rise and spread
In hues of pink and scarlet red

It’s one more gift that God has placed
For heart’s rejoice and eye’s embrace

From mountian heights to gleaming shore
God lets the falling waters pour
In summer heat the cooling stream
Meanders through the valley’s green

From where the pristine waters flowed
An endless fountain God bestowed

From limb of Maple He has shed
A falling leaf in crimson red
And sends a wind to brush the leaf
And fields of golden feathered sheaf

This is the glory of the fall
A joy and wonder to us all

From heaven’s garden filled with light
God plucks a little star of night
And drops it down to earth below
It gently falls as silent snow

A thing of wonder God has wrought
That stirs the soul and deepens thought
A tiny fragile star of grace
A flake of crystal icy lace

I too had this sigh that escaped at the end, that seemed absolutely appropriate to such a beautiful piece.  (Know what I pictured?  This fantastic (he) in times of old, reciting this aloud,
and (she) sneaking up on him something like this one...

Liz, this is gorgeous...but, then again, I've come to expect no less from your pen
This one's a keeper!~
