Every Sunday, right at two
They come to sit and hope
That she will recognize their faces
That she will call their names...
...but she is faraway.

In the land of Faraway
    dragons walk
       children play
Endless dreams begin anew
    wildflowers blossom
       in rainbow hues
And pain is forgotten.

Each night the terror begins
With the closing of her door
His breath foul upon her cheek
His hands rough upon her body...
...but she is faraway

In the land of Faraway
   mommies hug
      daddies stay
Nights are spent in gentle sleep
   teddy bears guard
      Angels keep
And pain is forgotten.

He watches from the snow filled street
Through the window at the tables within
Laden with food and drink and laughter
As his belly rumbles, and he shivers...
...then he is faraway.

In the land of Faraway
   theres milk and bread
      every day
Blankets warm against the night
   and tender hands
      to still the fright
And pain is forgotten.

Faraway Faraway Faraway
Gone

Wow, powerful thoughts penned here. It reads like a song, but a very sad one. So emotional, so well written. So despairing.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

This is so sad.
You have written of it really well.
'enjoyed' is not the right word, but I do appreciate the quality of this.
So sad that it needs to be written.
You did a good job.
