What Is Love
If it isn't faith in your heart
or the grace and beauty of your words
spoken softly in the stillness
of two, stretching the morning  moments...

What Is Love
If it isn't the pleasure received and given
not in adoration, but in deep devotion,
committing each to a passion
fired by the heart...

What Is Love
If it isn't the intoxication of,
the stimulation of, the poisoning
of my soul, each time you rouse me
stirring up desires, craving you...

And when the morning comes,
the newness stretches thin,
for beside me lays the emptiness
waiting...for Love.

Gentle smile, Maureen, you handled it very well and brought out the wonderous feelings..but it seemed to me that the willow branch drooped just a wee bit there at the end, hopefully, I was wrong and just old tired eyes didn't project..very nice write though, as you always do

I don't know what love is, so if you find out please let me know!!! Lovely poem though, seems to have the answers in there. Now maybe if I read it again, I'll find out for myself

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

what a lovely subject to work with
i once spent a whole night in a bar congetating (?spelling ) on that question
My conclusion love is:
a state where my happiness required that i make some one else happy
i think you handled the subject better than i did
but i blame the drink
thanks  for a lovely evocative write

LngJhnAg...hey, nice to see you..been awhuile, nothings changed much here  but my moods  they are still swinging...but someday, I am sure I will level out. Hugsssss, and someday maybe  weall can get together, you are not too far for me to meet you both. Thank you.

~Marie~ thank you also. *s

Victoria...well  I  don't know about worth, I just know what I think love is... hugss

arthur ..you made me wonder what this word is meant to be..congetating? ...I think it's not a question of making someone else happy..but always  being there and being supportive and giving it your best..no matter what that is.
I blame the drink for a lot of things too, just not my doing the drinking, but my other half...or what's left of him. Thank you
