ONE SEPTEMBER MORNING

by Wolfgang Oehry, Naples, Florida  - Copyright (c) 2001

One September morning,
the sun was rising high,
I saw the towers falling,
I saw the people cry.

On that September morning,
I felt the devil's breath.
The gates of Hell were open,
I touched the sleeve of death.

I wonder why it happened,
I really wonder why.
Does someone know the answer,
is there a reason why?

This one September morning
so many lives were changed.
Some are gone forever,
others still remain.

How long will I remember,
how soon can I forget?
That one September morning,
is there an answer yet?

The towers may have fallen,
and some old friends are gone,
but we will stand together,
and we will be as one!

I'm sure there are a lot of people who share the same feelings and welcome.
