Settling
one mote at a time
the cloud hazed so long
on landscaped thought
begins to settle
as I stand immobile
for fear of stirring
with even soft tread
the dust of you

Entombed here
with epitaph reading
little into the truth
of all that lies beneath

I have too few tears
to turn these plains to mud
but enough to cut small
rivulets of escape
into these layers now formed

Who will lay flowers
In honor on the grave
of this memory?

Superb writing Captain...
masterful employ of imagery and vocabulary,
also the succinctity added to this ones impact and haunted dark egdes.
well done poet sir!!

Ron, doggone it, this iz gettin' plumb embarrassin'.  I think I'll just put my pen away and just read your work, among others, which makes me feel inadequate
