On ghostly shoulders
he bears his burden
treading silently
through the windy vale
Thinking of his past
on this day of regret
blades rusted from reaping
pools deep and red
he turns slowly creaping
from the image in his head
leaving widows weaping
over fields of the dead

This is a haunting image. I got a sense of a victor of battle that felt no joy in that. Very interesting piece here...enjoyed this much!!!
