A pale, and violet sky reflects an image
as sunset wears a crown of porcelain fire.
I'm touched by gales removed from air above me.
Each moment is a fair and blue inspire.

But far beyond are fields of weapons worn.
Within my walls, I gather them to me-
from those who reaped a harvest from the thorn
and lived to hear the chime of passing sea.

The eagle in me flies to meet the dove;
beholding stars that entertain a breath.
The woman in me falls to earth in love!
How utterly I pierced devotion's test.

Oh hear the words my thoughts now ascertain
that I may heal the wounds and arrows flung.
Forever falls down swift as autumn rain
in poetry as dying songs I've sung.

I write through marble, stone and still I plead
through streams and banks and souls that dim the night-
that pearls will lend to absence what I need…
a solace in an alabaster light.

When I saw the name Shallot, I thought of onions. But when I read your poem, it was precious pearls that were draped before my eyes. An excellent poem!
