A Cure For Insomnia?

I’ve searched the ancient writings,
a sleepless cure to find.
It seems the Greeks were quite tired out,
Olympic Games, in mind.

The Romans give a gentle hint,
and perhaps here is a clue?
In "Amor Omnia vincit",
a Latin tag, ‘tis true!

They say, "Love conquers everything",
Or "Amor vincit omnia",
so probably commend it as
a real cure for insomnia.

So love as strongly as you can,
within your legal rights,
for when through, I bet that you
Can soundly sleep at nights!

Sea, CPhat, and Sunshinemist ~ Perhaps we can form a consortium and brainstorm how to "bottle it" and sell it, after all everything else comes in tubes these days he he

Great cure, unless one loves all night...then you still are sleepy the next day....but, oh so happy!

I loved as strongly as I could..
A maniac was I!
My passion flowed through every pore
Until my throat was dry.
I poured my heart and soul into
The effort all night long
But, afterwards, I couldn't sleep
So what had I done wrong???

I followed her advice, I did,
Down to the final letter.
I guarantee that I can't do
The "love thing" any better
So, in a fit of rage, I called
Mysteria on the phone....
She said, "Oh, Balladeer, you fool..
I didn't mean alone!!!"

Mysteria~  I was drawn in by the title...I'm sure we all have those insomniac periods!  Even if loving isn't the cure, it's certainly worth the effort!

Hugs,
~Krista

Your beautiful words & creativity allow me to connect with the same in myself.
Thank you for having the courage to share yourself so that I can too

You know, thanks to love, I get less sleep at night, but wake up better rested. Anyone know what I mean?
Nice write.

Catalinamoon, Enchantress, RosePetal - I know let's start an Insomniac's Anonymous club and make it for "Men Only" and surprise them when they join    Thanks girls!

Balladeer,

You know this time I believe you,
A man with reasons for pleasure or fun,
Never, ever listens to directions,
No wonder nothing came up but the sun!

Good one, my dear Deer! - got me!

Smitten Kitten ~ Well beats pills that is for sure!  thank you.

Sinister Handed ~ Unfortunately not, or I would be sleeping right now!  Hah! Thanks for reading this one.

Nan ~ Naughty, Naughty, but have a good sleep!

This was just so cute. And then I had to laugh at Balladeers response. But then I howled at your response to him. Too cute. What a great pick me up you've given me tonight
