If I gave you an apple, would you feed me an orange?
If I took my life, would you give me yours in return?

These hallucinations are not my own.
I was never that creative.
But I was the best at faking it.
And you have to be following me!
How else could you explain that I can't get your smell off my clothes
or your fingerprints off my throat?

So, stop following me!

My heart could use some room to die
and you never pick up enough speed to call it a chase, anyway.
I know you don't deserve my tears
and I don't intend to give them to you.
Only cry in front of you.
Rub it in your face that I'm sad
and you can't do a damned thing about it.

HA!

Actually, I woudn't know 'cause you never tried...
But I would still like to make you feel bad!

I'll take pity over indifference, any day...

'Cause your ignorance is amazing at best.
That "meant to be" missing from "we"
circles your head in constant motion.
But you stay still-
play dead
or deaf
or both.
Hell, we're already dead.
We're just too lazy to rot.

So, if I fed you an apple, would you still eat my orange?
And since you took my life, will you give yours in return?

This has a very interesting statement or two attached to it. Very well stated. I enjoyed.

Sometimes the heart needs the solace of solitude and silence.

Hell, we're already dead.
We're just too lazy to rot.--

I like this especially. A sad poem of anger and resignation both, but wonderfully expressed. Enjoyed.

Yes...clear indignation...It is scary how we rot in the barrel of our lives sometimes. I hope things are looking more peachy these days!   A very strong write.

Sincerely,
Regina

Oh wow, is this ever a good write. Strong words and feelings

and you never pick up enough speed to call it a chase, anyway

Hell, we're already dead.
We're just too lazy to rot

Just a couple of my favorite lines. But really, I thought the whole poem was amazingly well done

This poem has a lot of emotion in it - I like that ability to express feelings so they come out.

On a lighter side - Are we men really supposed to chase you gals?  I caught my Lorelei, and she doesn't seem to want to get away.  How can I keep chasing her when she refuses to run?  lol

I've decided that I'm not too lazy to rot. . . but that I am perhaps to lazy to ripen. . .

great job here, I love the way it just falls onto the page. . .
