away in the distance
i heard a child cry
was she cold?
was she hungry?
i didn't know why

i knew if i found her
i could soothe all her fears
but finding this child
would prove to take years

and then the day came
that i found this poor child
i just looked in the mirror---
it was me all the while

Once we learn who we are, what we want, where we want to go and most importantly ... what we've learned from where we've been, we should be able to place our thoughts in some semblance of order
Enjoyed your thoughts

I know that feeling, sometime it's too easy to neglect the inner child. Good poem.

I am glad you found yourself. It's getting cold outside, in more ways than one. Stay warm and safe, you know where you are now.

It sounds like you found the child that was lost.
Soul seaching seems to clear the fog and help us find our way.
Good poem.

we're all children inside aren't we? This touched me so much.
