My Last Prayer

~
Dear Lord, why must it be
sorrow refuses to let go of me,
why is there no solace when I pray
why does loneliness infest the day?
I am lost, life's compas steers me wrong
I am beauty, rare, yet, void of inner swan,
am I to be unworthy of joy for all time,
will peace of mind ever be mine?
Lord, I love you, but, how cruel you can be
allowing pain to eat away at me
~

Melissa,
to write out the words is so healing...ugly thoughts should not crowd our minds...only paper...good job!   Love this one!

Melissa Honeybee - I'm here to collect the 1 Million monopoly dollars, as I love your poem.

However, I feel your pain, but never fear, as it will pass. I assure you it will, so keep the faith and believe...

Your poem deeply touched me, for I have felt such sorrow too.
I think the pain of sorrows sometimes feels like it eats away at our soul, but as we overcome, in time we learn that the lonliness of prayer never really comes back void. We usually grow and become better people.
Teaches us to give a hug.
Very heartfelt poem you have written.

Hugs,
Deb

Thank you all for your concern and prayers, but, I am doing much better now!

It saddens me to know that their are others who feel such pain, but, God is also a compassionate friend and I trust in Him

Melissa - I'm sorry you hurt.  Please forgive me if I seem unkind, because I do not want  you to think that; but, it has been my experience that pain ate at me only as long as I continued to feed it.  Your whole life does not stretch behind you, it stretches out in front.  Use the power of your emotions to drive you forward into the light.  Easy?  Of course it isn't!  But you aren't a wimp, either.
