I cleaned up
And changed clothes when I got home

Enjoyed the familiar
And marveled at how strange it was
For it to be strange…

Iambe walked in about 6:00

Not saying a word
She stripped off her overalls
Letting them fall to the floor.

Walking past me
And managed to just brush my arm
With the tips of her breast as she passed.

I heard her turn the shower on
So I walked into the kitchen
And made myself a pot of coffee.

When she came out
I remembered the lust she built in me
But sat there not saying anything
Watching her walk towards me

Her first words struck me
“ You Fool, you poor stupid fool.”

I rose from my chair
And nodded just before I turned
And walked out the door to my truck

I heard her laugh as I turned the key.

Wish I had poured the coffee into a thermos.

And he leaves again for who knows how long...perhaps when he stops for that first cup, more than the story shall see a fork in the road...

I think you should go back, pour the coffee in the thermos and get things settled, laid to rest

But I don't write about lambe, you do ... and so well my friend.

I was confused when I read 'Toasting Fools', thinking I must have missed a chapter and so I had.  I was really hoping for a happier ending.  At least now I understand your explanation in previous post.  It's odd how wrapped up I got in those two people.
