where the sky and horizon meet

0 posted 2001-10-01 03:43 PM

I wish that I could
emerge from this silky shelter
where I reside
For no one sees the true me
when I'm all curled up inside

A flash of colour
is all they see
and maybe the tip of a wing
But that is only a small piece
who will see the real thing?

I want to spread my wings
without care
and soar across the sky
I wouldn't mind who stopped to watch
as I delightedly flew by

I want to be a butterfly
fragile, but still
taking flight
I want my heart to sing its song
as I sail at this new height

Your beautiful words & creativity allow me to connect with the same in myself.

This had such a flow and I enjoyed it twice.

Butterflies flutter by
A vision to behold
Taking flight in the lite
Toward the leaves of gold

Hey! I'd like to share something with you...and I understand that moths and butterflies are two different entities..but your poem, reminded me of an anthem...
http://lifesci.ucsb.edu/~haddock/poems/archy.html

Tread carefully upon the flowers
for easily are bruised the bowers
of the blossoms opening
and if a moth you find you be...
beware the torpid heat of sting!

Love ya lady...and a butterfly is just a moth with better sleeping habits I think!
