The tips of my feet
Almost touching the tree tops

My hair flung to the front of my face

The creak and roar of winds and chains

Lean back and watch the world whiz by

The Tingles and flops inside

Pull and tuck your legs

Higher and higher till you creep
Into the sky

You can't help but giggle
As you push your chest out bold

Close your eyes
And the bottom of the world drops out

And you are just one childhood example
Of a pendulum, suspended, in innocence

What a wonderfully nostalgic read for this old gal ... time to hop back on a swing and recapture this feeling you've described Regina. I very much enjoyed this.

Best wishes,
/Kit

What wonderful lines!!   This poem is so well written I could feel that wooden board on my, er, gluteus maximus

This is pure poetry...to take such an ordinary event and create a wonderful poem from it....tip o' the hat to ya, Regina...
