I have had the pleasure,
of having many friends.
Some have drifted away.
Some have stuck to the end.

In my own way I have cared,
I'm thankful, they've touched my life.
Some have brought me utter joy,
So many have caused much strife.

I thought I loved most all of them,
Until I came to realize.
That there is only one love.
And that love can't be disguised.

The feelings that I had before,
were simply mild affections.
Up one day and down the next,
going in all directions.

This time it is different.
It is constant and steadfast.
There's nothing to compare it to.
Surely no one in my past.

It's quiet and unassuming,
fulfilling all of me.
I feel wrapped in a cocoon of love,
and am quite satisfied to be.

It placates my heart when troubled,
and the world seems to get me down.
My eyes were opened to the imitators,
with this *one love* I have found.

If you can't make it so,
you need to let it go!

The weakness of imitations, shown by the real thing comes across clearly in your well written piece.   Rae

RAE...Thanks for reading and replying...
Suppose this is the difference in young tender eyes and the old tough eyes...???? ;-)
Take care,

Kitty

Sounds like true love to me. When the right one comes along, the others just pale in comparison. (By the way, not "old tough eyes", just wiser ones   )

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

It does sound like you've found the "real thing" Kitty, nicely expressed. As the old saying goes "we have to kiss a lot of frogs before we find our prince". Much enjoyed!

Best wishes,
/Kit

It's amazing when we can look back and see all the loves we have had and see how different each one has been. This is a beautiful poem about true love. I love it.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

(big hugggssssss) Oh Kitty, I am so happy you've found new true love; sometimes love just isn't meant to be but in the end it is meant to last. (smiles) Soooo beautiful, sweet friend! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

True love is a wonderful thing to experience! There is nothing to compare it to. You're very right in this one, Kitty.

God bless America, my home sweet home.
